Illinois Man Molested Child and Made Videos, Sentenced to Jail by Federal Judge

An Illinois man has been sentenced to prison by a federal judge in Montgomery for the production of child pornography.

As per United States Attorney Jonathan Ross, 31-year-old Brenden Neil Noel has been sentenced to 35 years in federal prison, as ordered on Wednesday.

In November 2022, law enforcement came across explicit communications on different messaging apps involving an unidentified individual and two girls under the age of 14 in Alabama, as stated in Noel’s plea agreement and other court records.

Law enforcement quickly contacted Noel after discovering that the messages originated from his home in Danforth, Illinois. Authorities conducted a thorough search of Noel’s electronic devices. Multiple images and videos were discovered on the devices, raising concerns of potential child pornography.

Noel confessed in his plea agreement to pressuring victims, whom he knew were under the age of 14, into sending him explicit photos. Additionally, he confessed to coercing minor victims into participating in sexually explicit behavior during video calls. Noel captured the behavior using a second phone. A guilty plea was entered by Noel for the production of child pornography in federal court on April 2, 2024.

U.S. Attorney Ross expressed deep concern over crimes targeting children. Actions like Noel’s have long-lasting impacts on the individuals affected. Thanks to the diligent efforts of law enforcement agencies, Noel’s ability to harm young people has been effectively neutralized.

As part of the investigation, agents discovered that Noel had a prior conviction in Illinois for aggravated criminal sexual assault, which resulted in his requirement to register as a sex offender.

The judge has also ruled that Noel will be placed on supervised release for life after serving his 35-year prison sentence. Parole is not granted in the federal system. Officials have announced that the restitution for Noel’s victims will be determined at a later date.
