Honk News Boston, MA) – Authorities in Boston have taken into custody a 21-year-old individual named Willian Robert Vasconcelos-Dos Santos in Falmouth, Massachusetts, following charges related to a sexual assault against a local resident last month.
A Massachusetts police department has made the unusual decision to comply with a detainer request from US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) concerning a Brazilian individual facing allegations of rape.
“Willian Robert Vasconcelos-Dos Santos is charged with horrifically victimizing a Massachusetts resident and represents a significant threat to the residents of our communities,” ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Boston acting Field Office Director Patricia H. Hyde said. “In this case, we appreciate the Falmouth District Court honoring the ICE immigration detainer and allowing our officers to take custody of Vasconcelos in the safety of a jail cell rather than having to arrest him at large. ICE Boston will continue to prioritize public safety by arresting and removing illegal alien offenders from our New England communities.”
On April 10, 2024, Vasconcelos-Dos Santos was apprehended by the US Border Patrol for unlawfully crossing into the U.S. close to San Diego.

Officials delivered a notice requiring him to appear before a judge from the Department of Justice, after which he was allowed to leave on his own recognizance.
On January 20, 2025, less than a year later, Vasconcelos-Dos Santos found himself in trouble once more, this time facing charges of rape from the Falmouth Police Department.
Following an immigration detainer filed by ICE with the Falmouth District Court, Vasconcelos-Dos Santos was taken into ICE custody the very next day after his release.
He is still being held in ICE custody.
