Honk News (Tavares, FL) – A mother from Florida and her male associate are confronting allegations of child abuse after they reportedly arrived at a hospital with a boy who was not breathing and exhibited burns, bruises, and other injuries in different stages of healing.
A 37-year-old woman, Kimberley Mills, is currently incarcerated as authorities continue their search for 36-year-old Andre Walker, according to a statement from the Tavares Police Department.
Mills and Walker arrived at Advent Health Waterman Hospital at approximately 10 p.m. on Saturday, with the mother performing CPR on the boy while Walker rushed inside to notify the staff that assistance was required. Healthcare professionals swiftly began providing urgent assistance to the young patient.
“Both Kimberley and the male left the hospital after learning that law enforcement was responding to the hospital, all while the juvenile was undergoing CPR in the Emergency Department,” cops wrote.

Mills went back to the hospital after a brief interval with another child, but Walker did not return, according to police reports. Mills reportedly declined to provide law enforcement with details regarding Walker’s location or to confirm his identity. Ultimately, she disclosed Walker’s identity to the Department of Children and Families, leading authorities to issue an arrest warrant for being an accessory after the fact to aggravated child abuse, as reported by law enforcement.
Investigators thoroughly searched Mills’ residence, gathering significant evidence and verifying Walker’s identity. Authorities continue their search for Walker. He stands at about 5’6” with a lean physique. Walker sports facial hair featuring a dark mustache complemented by a gray beard. A silver 2022 Toyota Tacoma SR5, bearing the Florida license plate number EQUU98, might be on the road.
Mills was taken into custody for serious child abuse and transported to the Lake County Jail, where she is being held without bond. Officials from the Department of Children and Families have assumed custody of Mills’ other child. The young boy is still in a serious state. The specific reasons explaining how the boy sustained the injuries were not readily provided.
