Homeless Man Arrested 3rd Time after trying to build his Camp in Seattle Park

Seattle, WA: Seattle residents who live near Dr. Jose Rizal Park once again saw Steve Irwin with equipment again on Friday. The man is no stranger to the residents as he is infamous in the region.

He was caught in February making a cabin in the woods with power, a washing machine, beer kegs, and other things.

“We were looking for places to pick up trash on Sunday when we saw Steve Irwin,” We Heart Seattle’s Andrea Suarez said.

“He has a restraining order because of the felony level of property damage he has caused to Seattle parks,” Suarez said. “He’s not supposed to be here.”

As soon as a resident saw a Irwin destroying the park, called Seattle Police to inform and stop further damage to the park.

SPD says Steve Irwin was caught right there, near where he was camping.

“This is the third time in six months,” said Suarez. “Whoever keeps bailing him out is doing a real injustice, not only to the park but to Steve Irwin. He needs help. Help is not getting him out of jail and letting him come back here.”

Irwin was caught for the first time in October 2023 on charges of stealing an excavator.  He attempted to build a house and he used the big tools to cut down trees.

Irwin is in jail right now. He was given $35,000 bail by a judge. He is also being charged with second-degree identity theft. At the time of his most recent arrest, prosecutors say they found several IDs on him as per FOX13.
