Seattle, WA: Seattle police apprehended a man who tried to rob multiple individuals with a stolen firearm and then engaged in a car pursuit around Seattle two months ago.
Officers were dispatched to a report of an attempted armed robbery at a Shell gas station on Rainier Avenue South around 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 9. Victims reported to the police that a man brandished a semi-automatic weapon at them when they declined to pay him money.
The man departed heading south on Hiawatha Place South in a white Ford Focus.
An hour later, authorities received a report of a man brandishing a firearm at a U.S. Postal Service employee on duty in the 4400 block of South Rose Street.

The woman reported that the man pointed the rifle directly at her face and stared at her intently. The police were contacted for assistance. Officers spotted the Ford Focus on South Kenyon Street and tried to stop it, but the driver fled.
Officers pursued the individual northbound on Renton Avenue South after receiving authorization, and the incident ended when he wrecked in the 7100 block of Martin Luther King Junior Way South, near the Othello Station.
Officers witnessed the man disposing of the pistol by throwing it out of the car around the 3900 block of Othello Street into a parking lot before the crash occurred.
Upon retrieving the firearm, the police found that it had been reported stolen in Seattle in November 2023. No injuries are reported after the chase.
The 48-year-old man was apprehended and accused of two charges: attempted robbery and felony harassment. He was incarcerated at the King County Jail.
