An individual of Peruvian nationality, who was residing in the United States without legal documentation, has been apprehended by authorities. The arrest was made following accusations of the individual abducting a high school student in Manassas, Virginia. The incident occurred while the student was on her way to school. The local police department is currently investigating the matter.
Manassas Police Department announced the arrest of a 23-year-old individual named Jesus Enrique Ramirez Cabrera on Friday. He has been charged with abduction, robbery, impersonation of law enforcement, and petit larceny.
Authorities were alerted by a concerned citizen who discovered a young girl in a state of distress at the intersection of Quarry Road and Zebedee Street.
Upon the arrival of officers, it was discovered that an unknown individual in a red Jeep SUV, potentially a Patriot or Commander model, had approached the young girl while she was making her way to school along Clover Hill Road.
According to the girl, she managed to escape from the vehicle once they arrived at Quarry Road, as she informed the authorities.
Authorities initially announced the search for an individual of Hispanic descent, approximately 40 years of age, sporting black hair and a beard.
Following a thorough two-day investigation, law enforcement officials successfully identified the suspect and took Cabrera, a 23-year-old individual, into custody.
He was brought to the Prince William County Adult Detention facility, where he underwent processing and was detained without bond.
According to federal sources, Cabrera, a Peruvian individual, was apprehended at the Arizona border in December and subsequently released into the United States.
Authorities have stated that they do not suspect any additional individuals were involved in the incident with the teenager. They have also reassured the community that there is no ongoing danger.
