Former Kentucky Pastor in Jail for Sleeping with 15-year-old in Church; Was Removed by Church after Allegations Surfaced

A Lexington pastor has been taken into custody and is now facing serious charges related to sexual abuse and exploitation of a minor.

As per an arrest citation, Zachary King voluntarily participated in an interview with the Department of Criminal Investigations in Attorney General Russell Coleman’s Office. During the interview, he admitted to being involved in a sexual relationship with a minor for the past year and a half.

In a shocking revelation, King admitted to engaging in a sexual relationship with a minor for over a year. According to the investigation, the illicit activities began when the minor was just 15 years old and continued until April 2024.

According to the citation, he confessed to engaging in sexual activity at various locations, including the minor’s home, his own residence, and the church where he used to be a pastor.

King stepped down from his role at the church following a confrontation with other church staff over the allegations, as stated in the citation.

In addition, the citation reveals that King informed the investigator about his use of “Snapchat and WhatsApp” to coordinate the meetups and “receive sexually explicit images of the minor.”

He has been placed in the Fayette County Detention Center.

Zachary King appeared in Fayette County District Court on Tuesday afternoon for his arraignment.

The attorney representing King requested the judge to consider a bond amount of $50,000, with the possibility of King paying 10 percent, which amounts to $5,000, to secure his release.

Judge John Tackett, however, decided to set the bond at $250,000 as reported by LEX18 News.
