Florida Woman Texted Police Officer to get Her Some Fentanyl instead of Her Drug Dealer; Arrested after Officer Set Meeting for Exchange

Honk News (Bay County, FL) – A woman in Florida is now facing legal issues after mistakenly sending a text to a sheriff’s investigator. She had saved the investigator’s number under initials that closely resembled those of her drug dealer from a prior encounter.

Octavia Wells, 41, is facing legal issues related to the improper use of a communication device, possession of drug-related items, and operating a vehicle with a suspended license, according to online court documents.

The situation emerged on December 31. An investigator from the Bay County Sheriff’s Office reported receiving a number of unsolicited text messages from an individual known as “Octavia,” as stated in the affidavit.

The accused reportedly stated she required “just a couple points,” indicating a mere one-tenth of a gram of fentanyl. The accused mentioned having $45 available, and a location for the meeting was established, according to the document.

Authorities discovered her operating a vehicle on a highway, according to the affidavit. It was reported that she was operating a vehicle with a suspended license, a situation that law enforcement had previously informed her about during an earlier encounter.

According to the affidavit, the individual arrived at the designated spot for the drug deal — a gas station in Panama City — where she parked at the fuel pumps and exited the car.

According to the affidavit, she reportedly confessed that her intention was to purchase a small quantity of fentanyl for personal use, as she was scheduled to enter rehab that very day.
