A trial that lasted for three days resulted in the conviction of a man from Collier County for the crime of molesting a kid.
Matthew Edward Zink, who is 49 years old, was found guilty of two counts of molestation on Wednesday evening, as stated by the counsel for the state.
Zink was taken into custody immediately following an investigation by the Special Victims Unit of the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the findings of the study, a number of instances occurred over the course of many months in the year 2021.
After a youngster disclosed to a member of the family that Zink had sexually abused them, the investigation officially got underway.
A member of the victim’s family then proceeded to inform a Youth Relations Deputy who was working at the victim’s elementary school.
Zink allegedly had the victim “pinky promise” that they would not tell anybody about the sexual assaults that he committed on them, and he also purchased gifts for the child after the victims were sexually abused.
The date of the sentencing is scheduled for the 22nd of July, 2024 as reported by WINK News.
