Tampa, FL- A Florida man was taken into custody in Tampa, Florida, on suspicion of having sexual contact with a kid.
The man is identified as Anthony Owens. He is a resident of Rome.
Anthony Owens was the subject of an investigation that was initiated by the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center earlier this year.
Sheriff’s deputies have reported that Owens is accused of engaging in sexual contact with a female minor who is younger than 13 years old.
He is facing allegations of sexual conduct against a child, which were brought against him by a grand jury in Oneida County.
This information was provided by the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office in a press release. “On July 16, 2024, Owens was located at a residence in Tampa and taken into custody on the warrant by members of the United States Marshal’s Service,” the statement read.
It was this week that he was extradited back to Oneida County, and he is currently being held in the Oneida County Jail on a cash bail of fifty thousand dollars.
“The victim has been offered services through the Child Advocacy Center,” the Sheriff’s Office added in their statement.
