Tampa, FL-
In accordance with the Department of Justice, a man who was thirty years old was given the maximum punishment for generating child sexual abuse material of a child that he was babysitting.
A sentence of thirty years in federal prison, followed by a lifetime of supervised release, was handed down to Olejuwan Lamar Steele, who hails from Zephyrhills, according to the United States Department of Justice (DOJ). Steele was found guilty of producing material that depicted child sexual abuse.
“This babysitter exploited the innocence of a child in his care, betrayed the trust placed in him, and violated the sanctity of childhood itself,” said Homeland Security Investigations Tampa Assistant Special Agent in Charge Micah McCombs. “Through HSI’s law enforcement partnership with the Pasco Sheriff’s Office, this predator will now be held accountable for his vile actions against a child.”

The documents filed in the courtroom indicate that Steele worked as a babysitter in the Dade City neighborhood located in Pasco County. According to the Department of Justice, Steele made films of child sexual abuse material of the victim in 2022 when he was babysitting a child who was two years old. He then disseminated these videos on the internet that were broadcast in real-time.
On April 17, after his arrest, Steele filed a guilty plea to the charges against him. The Department of Justice stated that in addition to his term, the court ordered him to register as a sexual offender and make compensation to the victim in the amount of three thousand dollars as reported by CBS12 News.
