Father Sent to Prison for Life for Killing Man who Abused His Daughter in Minnesota

According to the records prepared by the court, a man from Brainerd will be sentenced to spend the rest of his life behind bars, without the possibility of parole, for the murder of the lover of his daughter, who was 23 years old.

A sentence was handed down to Michael Lee Laflex, who is 46 years old, on Monday. In April of this year, a jury in Crow Wing County Court convicted Laflex guilty of both first-degree and second-degree murder. This decision was made when the jury reached their verdict. Laflex was only sentenced for the first-degree murder conviction, despite the fact that he was found guilty on both crimes during the trial.

Bryce Brogel, who was shot in the back of the head in a storage facility in October 2022, was the victim of the investigation that led to the charging of Laflex for his death.

The fact that Laflex’s daughter was dating Brogel at the time led him to suspect that Brogel had been abusing his daughter.

According to the documents filed in the court, the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office received a phone call from the landlord of Brogle and his girlfriend while the investigation was being conducted. It was reported by the landlord that Laflex had called and inquired about whether Brogle had injured his daughter as per KSTP News.

According to the complaint, when the landlord stated that he had seen Laflex’s daughter with two black eyes, Laflex stated that he was going to kill Brogle and that he had already dug the grave.
