Sean “Diddy” Combs is eligible to cast his vote in the 2024 election despite being incarcerated and awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, The Post has confirmed.
A 55-year-old music mogul has been incarcerated at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center since September following his arrest for alleged involvement in racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution purposes. He has entered a plea of not guilty regarding the charges.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) states that Diddy and fellow inmates at the MDC can vote only via absentee ballot, as long as they have not been convicted.

Inmates at MDC, like all voters, need to be registered before they can ask for an absentee ballot. However, there are some extra challenges when it comes to sending and receiving a ballot from prison.
Federal prisons treat “incoming mail from a Board of Election labeled ‘Official Election Mail,’ ‘Official Election Ballot,’ ‘Ballot Enclosed,’ or similar language indicating the contents of the envelope include an election ballot will be treated as special mail and the incarcerated individual will be asked to sign for receipt of the mail,” according to the official. However, “other types of election-related mail are considered general correspondence.”
