A pastor from Trinity Baptist Church in Farwell faces allegations of sexually assaulting a young boy.
In March, the Clare County Sheriff’s Office was informed about a reported sexual assault after the boy disclosed the incident to authorities in a location outside of Michigan, where he currently resides. Records show the incident occurred in June 2021.
Harold Cole Jr., 57, faces a charge of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, as announced by the Clare County Prosecutor’s Office. He showed up in Clare County District Court for his arraignment on Friday.
Cole is facing allegations of engaging in unwanted sexual contact with a boy under the age of 13, involving the use of force or coercion. Cole could spend up to five years behind bars if found guilty.
After his arraignment, he posted a portion of a $20,000 bond and was released from custody with a GPS monitor. Cole has more court hearings lined up for November 12 and 18.
