An owner of a daycare in New York City was given 25 years in jail for sexually abusing a child who was in his care.
About 9,800 pictures of child sexual abuse were found with a 34-year-old defendant called Silfredo Castillo Martinez, according to the Department of Justice in the Southern District of New York. On Thursday, the judge gave him a 25-year prison term.
The police say that Castillo Martinez ran Lina’s Garden Day Care out of his home on Decatur Avenue in the northern Bronx area of Williamsbridge. From July 2015 to May 2022, this deal was in place. He kept track of times when he sexually abused an 11-year-old between May and July 2018.
After many years, on April 25, 2022, Google gave the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children a tip. The tip said that a user had posted possibly upsetting content about exploiting children.
Police executed a search warrant on him on May 3 and took away about 30 electronic gadgets he was carrying. During their investigation, police found explicit content regarding a young victim of abuse.

The child has been named, and the mother told the police that her child had been going to the daycare for a number of years.
Official records show that the suspect admitted to putting offensive content on his Google Drive account after being questioned by police and being given a Miranda warning.
Law and Crime reported that on March 21, he admitted to sexually exploiting a kid and making child pornography, which are both very serious crimes.
“Silfredo Castillo Martinez exploited the trust placed in him as a daycare provider by sexually abusing one of the minor children under his care and recording that abuse,” U.S. Attorney Damian Williams of the Southern District of New York said in a statement. “This lengthy prison sentence holds Castillo Martinez accountable for his horrific crimes and the extraordinary harm and trauma he caused.”
