KIMBALL, Nebraska- A resident of Kimball and an employee of a local daycare was taken into custody on August 2 in connection with allegations of child abuse.
Following a comprehensive investigation conducted by the Kimball Police Department, Ylia Morales, a 68-year-old resident of Kimball, has been relieved of her duties and taken into custody.
A parent discovered marks on their child while attending the daycare and promptly reported their concerns to the owners. Upon further investigation, the daycare promptly reported the incident to the Department of Health and Human Services. Subsequently, KPD was contacted by the department at around 8:26 in the morning on August 2.
Officers uncover evidence of child abuse against a 4-year-old boy during the investigation. The incident occurred on July 29.
“Kids are innocent, and it is our job as officers of the Kimball Police Department to protect them,” Chief of Police Jose Ruiz said.
