Polk County, TEXAS- A sex offender who was on Texas’ most wanted list has been apprehended by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Spencer Smith, a 32-year-old resident of Livingston, Texas, is being charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child.
According to the sheriff’s department, Smith’s arrest on July 18 was a collaborative effort with DPS.
Livingston resident Spencer Alexander Smith, 32, has been charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child. His alleged actions were so concerning that he was placed on the Department of Public Safety’s list of 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders before he was apprehended.
“The operation involved hours of diligent searching and coordination between local and state law enforcement agencies. Their tireless efforts culminated in taking this wanted fugitive into custody without incident,” Polk County Sheriff Byron Lyons said in a post on Facebook announcing the arrest.
Smith has been placed in custody at Polk County Jail and is currently being held on a bond of $1 million.
