Officials report that 25 kilograms of suspected cocaine were discovered on an Alabama beach, mirroring the previous day’s discovery of the same quantity of drugs off the coast of Florida.
Cocaine bundles were discovered on the west side of Dauphin Island, according to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office. The find was made on Thursday, as reported by CBS affiliate WKRG-TV. A total of 55 pounds of drugs were seized, with an estimated street value of $450,000.
A photo released by the sheriff’s office displayed 25 packages of the alleged drugs, a few of which had a “%” sticker on the front.
The sheriff’s office was notified by the Dauphin Island Police Department about the discovery of suspected drugs on the beach. According to WKRG, detectives have not discovered any additional packages, but they are still closely monitoring the area.
