Atlanta, GA: One person was wounded when gunfire broke out during a dangerous confrontation in the busy northwest Atlanta eating district early Sunday.
As reported by Atlanta News First, the heist went horribly wrong when individuals clad in ski masks demanded the victim’s property at approximately 4 o’clock in the morning outside the Osprey apartments, just a short distance from popular restaurants Hattie B’s Hot Chicken and Snooze.
Near the 900 block of Howell Mill Road, a popular spot for late-night diners and tech students, an apparent new level of danger has emerged as the victim, who opted to defend herself, pulled a gun and engaged the assailants in gunfire before being hit and then driven to Grady Memorial Hospital in a private vehicle.
According to an AJC story, the Atlanta Police Department confirmed the gunfight and said that the assailants escaped in a silver sedan, which added another dimension to the night’s hectic events.
The victim, whose name is being withheld by authorities, is currently in a stable condition.

No one has been arrested in relation to the attempted robbery and subsequent clash as investigators sort through the chaos of the night for leads.
Hattie B’s and Snooze, two staples in the neighborhood that entice both residents and tourists with promises of delicious food, have become tarnished by the recent spate of violent crimes, casting a pall over the once-thriving restaurant district.
The situation was described by locals as being “concerning and scary,” and one neighbor told Atlanta News First that they felt uneasy doing normal things like walking their dog after hearing such disturbing noises. As the wounded man gets better and the city deals with a disturbance in a valued neighborhood, the Atlanta Police Department keeps looking for answers.
