Atlanta, Georgia: A mother and daughter from Northeast Atlanta, Georgia were successfully rescued from a dangerous hostage situation when authorities responded to their plea for help.
The Atlanta Police Department shared information about the incident in a press release over the weekend. Officers were dispatched to a residence in Northeast Atlanta on Friday after receiving a tip about a domestic dispute, according to the department.
Upon arriving at the scene at approximately 10 p.m., officers encountered a woman who was said to be uncooperative. However, before departing, she silently mouthed the words “help me,” as stated in the press release.
The woman refused to allow officers entry, prompting them to contact hostage negotiators for assistance at the apartment. A SWAT team has set up a perimeter around the residence on Piedmont Avenue.

According to the press release, the suspect, Andre Ross, peacefully surrendered without any additional issues.
The mother and daughter were successfully rescued from the residence, while Ross, the father of the child, has been arrested and is currently in custody at the Fulton County Jail.
When Ross was arrested on Friday, he had multiple warrants for charges such as robbery, obstruction of probation, and weapon possession.
