In a harrowing turn of events in Miami’s Liberty City neighborhood, a shooting incident on Tuesday afternoon resulted in two fatalities and left one individual severely wounded, according to the Miami Police Department.
The tragic episode unfolded over two locations along Northwest 10th Avenue, specifically near the intersections of 55th Street and 62nd Street, not far from the Miami Police Department’s North District office.
Miami Fire Rescue services responded to the scene near Northwest 62nd Street, where they found two individuals in dire conditions. A man was reported to be in “extremely critical condition,” while a woman suffered serious injuries.
Despite the swift medical response, the man succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The scene was marked by a gray Nissan, which investigators meticulously combed through as part of their investigation.
The second scene, near 55th Street, witnessed another grim discovery—a silver Chrysler 200 with a yellow tarp concealing its driver’s side door, indicating another life claimed by this senseless act of violence.

Mykia Canty, a resident of Liberty City, recounted the terrifying moment: “I was in bed and I just heard the gunshots go off. I thought they were shooting at my house, so I jumped on the floor. It was a whole bunch of shots. It was really really fast.”
