Harris County, TX- According to court records, Jasmine Ellison and Glenn Smith are currently being jailed in the Harris County Jail on charges of killing their 5-month-old daughter, who they allegedly abused.
The Harris County court docket lists both of their names as defendants on charges of injury to a child inflicting serious bodily injury.
According to the reports, the medical examiner noted “sheering injuries to her brain caused by shaking the child aggressively.”
The infant was described in the medical records as having “bleeding on her brain, blood coming out of her mouth, broken ribs and healed broken ribs.” In addition, “It is alleged that the abuse continued for four days resulting in the death of the child.”
According to the records, Smith was the one who abused the infant to death, while Ellison was the one who should have protected the child by getting medical help.
For Ellison, the state sought a $250,000 bail, while for Smith, it sought a $1,000,000 bond.
The original bond amount for Smith was $1 million, while Ellison’s was set at $150,000, according to records. On the other hand, documents show that Smith had his bond reduced to $250,000.
They are scheduled to appear in court in November.
