A Florida man has been taken into custody after reportedly breaking into a neighbor’s residence and molesting the woman’s sleeping children.
David Andrew Ogden, 39, is confronting multiple charges related to inappropriate conduct, along with a charge of burglary involving assault and another for resisting arrest.
A probable cause arrest affidavit reveals that the victims’ mother was working as an Uber driver when a friend alerted her shortly before 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 7, informing her that in-home cameras captured Ogden inside a bedroom where all three children were asleep. Without hesitation, she got behind the wheel and headed home.
The footage allegedly depicted Ogden inappropriately interacting with the children and capturing images. It is claimed that he inappropriately touched one victim’s legs and forcibly removed the pants of another. The affidavit detailed an alarming incident where an individual exposed himself and engaged in inappropriate behavior while in close proximity to a child.
The individual reported familiarity with Ogden, identifying him as a personal trainer at a YMCA. At approximately 12:45 a.m., he sent her a message, allegedly stating:
Hey, seriously, Saturday, if you need to work. I am happy to entertain the kids. I know you’re probably sleeping. But my girls had a blast with yours. Also, little drunk watching umbrella academy. Lol. But really was great to see my girls having so much fun. They were out like a light at bedtime. Lol
The affidavit reveals that Ogden entered the residence via a mail slot. According to law enforcement, he knew he could open the door using that method.
Authorities arrived at Ogden’s residence, seized his wrist, and placed him in handcuffs as soon as he answered the door, according to their statement. He reportedly fought against being taken into custody.
After being read his rights, he communicated with detectives, yet his remarks are absent from the arrest affidavit. His spouse willingly surrendered his phone to law enforcement. He remains in custody at the Orange County Jail with no option for bond.
Ogden is connected to Dave Ogden, who serves as the police chief in the nearby town of Windermere.
