Women Molested by Man at Central Park; was Sunbathing when Assault Happened: NYPD

A suspect is being sought by the New York City police department in connection with the sexual assault that occurred on Monday afternoon in Central Park on a woman who was sunbathing.

A woman was reportedly the victim of an attempted rape in a certain area of Central Park at approximately 1:30 p.m., prompting the police to react to the scene.

A woman in her 20s was sunbathing alone in an isolated area of the park when a black male, who is believed to be in his 30s, approached her and began exposing himself, according to the police.

According to the authorities, she stood up and attempted to flee during the time that he tackled her from behind.

She was able to put up a battle against him, and he fled, according to the police and FOX News.

After that, the woman was sent to a nearby hospital for further examination. The suspect, who is described as a black male in his 30s, around 6 feet tall, of medium build, with curly hair, and wearing a light-colored shirt and shorts, is currently being sought by the police.

As the authorities continue to search through surveillance footage and the perimeter of the park for the culprit, they have determined that a significant police presence will continue to be present surrounding the park.
