Burton, MI: A woman from Burton admitted to pushing her daughter to have sexual relations with their neighbor, which was illegal, and abused the child.
In March 2023, Jenny Ellen Brewer, who is now 38 years old, was arrested on charges that she forced her 9-year-old daughter to have sexual relations with a neighbor. A tip gave the police the idea to start an investigation on March 8, 2023.
Voices for Children set up a conversation with the victim, who was 11 years old at the time. Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton said that the child told the police that her neighbor had sexually abused her during the interview.
Police said the victim told them her mom would text her and tell her to go to the neighbor’s house, where the neighbor would sometimes give the child a stuffed animal.

According to Leyton, the mother would also take part in the acts.
Leyton said that he thinks the mother was getting paid or rewarded for what the child did. This means that the case is also about human trafficking as well as child abuse.
“Some of the allegations here are quite disturbing. I know when I read the police reports I cringed and that doesn’t happen very often for a prosecutor who’s been in office for 18 and-a-half years already,” Leyton said.
Brewer was charged with several charges for the crimes that were said to have happened.
Brewer took a plea deal on May 9 and admitted to one count of second-degree criminal sexual behavior and one count of second-degree child abuse. They dropped all the other charges against her. Her hearing date is set for Tuesday, May 21, at 9 a.m.
The neighbor, Eddie Lowell Ehrisman, was also charged with several crimes, including 12 counts of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree.
There will be one last pre-trial meeting for Ehrisman on May 21 at 9 a.m., and the trial will begin on June 6 at 8:30 a.m.
