According to the Charlotte Metropolitan Police Department (CMPD), a mother is facing multiple charges after her daughter, who was eight years old, passed away as a result of being left in a vehicle amid hot weather conditions.
According to a press statement, police from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department located the youngster on Wilkinson Boulevard on Wednesday, June 26th, shortly before 6:30 p.m. The infant was found inside the vehicle and was in critical condition.
It was determined that the girl had passed away after she was sent to a neighboring hospital for treatment as reported by WCCBCharlotte News.
After conducting additional research, it was discovered that the girl had been left inside the vehicle in the hot weather conditions, and she had experienced a medical emergency as a result. A woman named Ashlee Stallings, who is 36 years old, has been identified as the mother of the victim.
Involuntary manslaughter and child abuse by willful conduct inflicting significant damage are the charges that have been brought against Stallings, who has been arrested due to the incident.
