In the Jicarilla Apache Nation, a man from Albuquerque was found guilty of sexually abusing two young women and received a sentence of twenty-five years in federal prison.
In the federal system, there is no provision for parole.
According to the records filed in the court, Christian Quintana, who is 28 years old and a member of the Jicarilla Apache Nation, was responsible for sexual contact with Jane Doe 1, a child who had not yet reached the age of 12 at the time.
It was then that Quintana sexually assaulted Jane Doe 2, who was 17 years old at the time, between the months of October 2019 and October 2020. The second Jane Doe was taken to a remote area by Quintana, who then threatened her life as well as the lives of her family members and had sexual relations with her against her will.
The Jicarilla Apache Nation was the location of both incidences, which took place outside of territorial bounds.
After Quintana is released from jail, he will be required to register as a sexual offender and will be subject to a lifelong period of supervised release following his release.
In a statement that was released today, United States Attorney Alexander M.M. Uballez and Raul Bujanda, who is the Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Albuquerque Field Office, jointly made the news.
The Farmington Resident Agency of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Albuquerque Field Office provided support to the Jicarilla Apache Police Department in their investigation of this case. Matthew J. McGinley, an assistant United States Attorney, is the one who is doing the prosecution in this case.
