23-Year-Old Suspect of 2 Armed Robberies in San Jose Finally in Police Custody

San Jose, CA: An investigation is underway into Dylan Tonery, a 23-year-old resident of San José, for his suspected role in two armed robberies in January 2024 by the San José Police Department (SJPD). On January 18, 2024, a robbery happened on Leigh Avenue, followed by another one the next day on West San Carlos Street.

SJPD Robbery Unit Detectives discovered that the vehicle used in the robberies was also connected to a burglary in Santa Clara. Suspect arrested for burglary by Santa Clara Police Department on January 24, 2024.

After inspecting Tonery’s vehicle, detectives discovered evidence that connected him to the San José robberies. As a result, Tonery was charged with robbery and gun enhancements by the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office on February 9, 2024. Tonery is currently being held in custody.
