San Jose, CA: A family in San Jose is experiencing extreme anxiety as their home was burglarized while they were away at work, resulting in the loss of belongings valued at nearly $30,000. The individual thought to be the suspect also released their dog.
“They broke the locks and opened the window,” stated the homeowner, who preferred to remain anonymous.
A video captures the incident that occurred on Jan. 28 in the Rose Garden neighborhood around 8 a.m. while the individual and their spouse were away at work.
The victim positively identified the individual captured in the footage as the alleged perpetrator, who was wearing a black hoodie, jeans, and red shoes.
Wearing a partially obscured face, they repeatedly knocked on the door, only to find that nobody was home. “He then came into my yard and noticed that we owned a dog, specifically a husky,” recounted the victim.
According to the account, the individual entered their property, encountered their canine companion named Greta, departed, and subsequently returned with a canine companion of their own.
After that, Greta was seen walking away with the suspect and dog, and she hasn’t been seen since. The suspect returns wearing a different jacket and carrying two white sticks, successfully gaining entry into the home.
In the video, the suspect can be observed rummaging through various items while making audible sounds. Shortly after, he departs with a few items in his hands.
The victim reported that their jewelry, including gold necklaces, along with the money they had been saving for their upcoming baby, was taken by the perpetrator.
“My wife is feeling frightened and deeply affected,” he expressed. At night, she is often startled by unfamiliar sounds, causing her to worry about the presence of an intruder in her home.
The man expressed his fear and desire to relocate with his wife. The San Jose police are currently investigating the incident. The family is hopeful that officers will be able to locate the individual responsible, but their main focus is on reuniting with their beloved Greta.
