15-year-old Shot in Head Near Grandma’s House in Florida; Shooter Arrested for Brutal Killing

A 15-year-old boy in Florida City was shot and killed just a block from his grandmother’s house.

The person who died was named as Damarion Bailey. His police department in Florida City says he was shot in the head on Saturday. Near Northwest 13 Street and Fifth Avenue, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said he was dead.

Kika Bailey said that her nephew Damarion, who goes to Homestead Middle School, was a “good kid” who had never done anything bad.

The sad aunt stood next to Damarion’s mother and said, “She needs justice for her son.”

Detectives in Miami-Dade County said that Jeron Smith, who will be 18 years old in December, killed Damarion with a gun. The police report says that Smith admitted to killing the person.

Police said they found a 9mm gun hidden behind an air conditioner in Smith’s Florida City flat.

Miami-Dade County Corrections and Rehabilitation records show that Smith, a convicted felon, was put into jail just before midnight on Saturday.

Records show that Smith was in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a charge of second-degree murder with a weapon while he was out on felony bond for a weapons charge.

The Florida City Police Department says that Shot Spotter technology let them know about the shooting. There were cams watching the area where the shooting took place as per Local10 News.
