15-year-old Molested by Roommate’s Boyfriend in Indiana; Held in Detention by Cops

A 35-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday for reportedly making advances toward the roommate of his girlfriend, a teenager.

The Fort Wayne Police Department said in a release that Jamar Clevtrell Barnes is being charged with a preliminary Level 5 criminal child solicitation.

The statement says that in April, a 15-year-old girl called the police to say that Barnes, her roommate’s boyfriend, had locked her out of her house. The girl told the FWPD that Barnes had asked her to have sex, and she showed them text messages from him.

Barnes told police that he knew how young the girl was, according to the report. The teenager’s text messages were sent by Barnes, according to a detective with the FWPD’s Crimes Against Persons Section.

On Tuesday morning, Barnes was taken to the Allen County Jail, where he was already being held on a separate charge.
