Investigators from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a guy from Metairie who they say sexually abused two girls and gave one of them HIV.
According to Jefferson Parish court officials, the investigation began on February 13 when a Metairie elementary school called the police about a girl who said she had been raped.
Authorities say the girl named Ronald Fruchtnicht is the suspect.
The girl’s family knew about Fruchtnicht. Authorities say that the girl told them he would show her pornography, reveal his genitalia, and ask her to copy what was in the videos several times when she was between the ages of 7 and 12.
Detectives learned about another victim while they were looking into the first set of claims. According to the police, the girl, whose family knows Fruchtnicht, told them that he took off his clothes in front of her when they were alone in a room when she was 5 years old.
Fruchtnict is charged with making her take off her shorts and doing something inappropriate. She said that he then took a picture of her private parts and told her that he would show the picture to other people if she told them what had happened.
Police say that while looking into the claims about the second victim, officers found out that Fruchtnicht has HIV.
He was caught on May 16 and charged with six counts of molesting a child under 13 and putting the victim at risk of getting HIV on purpose, according to jail records.
For Fruchtnicht, the bail amount was set at $175,000 by Jefferson Parish Criminal Commissioner Paul Schneider during a meeting on Monday. Zucht was being held at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna on Tuesday.
