Honk News – (Pittsburgh, PA) – A man from Pennsylvania faces charges of attempted homicide following his arrest for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend’s 1-year-old son several weeks ago.
On November 23, an event took place involving Lyndon Henderson, 24, who was caring for his girlfriend’s son while she was at her job. Upon her arrival, she found her son lying on the couch, unresponsive. A baby was transported to the hospital, where medical professionals diagnosed him with a traumatic brain injury and placed him on a ventilator. Authorities have confirmed that the young child sustained a fractured vertebra and experienced a stroke.
Henderson faced initial felony charges for aggravated assault, which were escalated on December 31 to attempted homicide.
A criminal complaint revealed that during an interview with police, Henderson stated that the young boy tumbled off the couch after being playfully spun around in circles. The boy was reportedly smiling following the incident.
A doctor referenced in the criminal complaint, who provided treatment to the boy at the hospital, stated that “[t]he brain injury sustained by the victim is 100%, unequivocally the result of child abuse.”

Carla Darrell, the boy’s paternal grandmother, shared, “He was on all kinds of machines. He was beat like a man. A man beat my grandson.”
The young child is still in a medically induced coma at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, several weeks following admission.
Henderson has been taken into custody and is currently at the Washington County Correctional Facility, where he remains without the option for bail. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on January 22.
