Honk News – (Dayton, OH) – A man from Dayton is now confronted with over 100 new charges connected to a case of suspected child abuse.
Montgomery County Prosecutor Mat Heck, Jr. has announced that Kyle Knox, 38, from Dayton, is now confronted with over 100 additional charges.
- 74 counts of endangering children – sexual matter
- 20 counts of endangering children – cruelly abuse/torture
- Seven counts of aggravated arson – harm to persons
- Four counts of endangering children – abuse (serious physical harm)
- One count of strangulation – serious physical harm
Heck also mentioned that Kayla Shepherd, 29, from Dayton, is facing two more charges:
- One count of aggravated possession of drugs
- One count of drug paraphernalia offense
Heck reported that on November 18, 2024, officers from the Dayton Police Department were dispatched to Arlene Avenue following a call to authorities. Upon arrival, officers are said to have found two children in the street who purportedly stated they were “seeking help” after allegedly being “left home alone.”

An 8-year-old boy reportedly displayed “significant, visible injuries,” which were further assessed at the hospital, as noted by Heck.
“At the hospital, it was discovered the 8‐year‐old boy had significant injuries that were not readily visible at the time police spoke with the two children,” said the release.
In November 2024, Knox and Shepherd faced indictment on four counts related to the endangerment of children.

“Further investigation revealed the extent of the horrific abuse the children were subjected to, especially as it relates to the 8‐year‐old,” said the release.
“The systemic abuse these children went through is simply unimaginable,” said Heck. “Thankfully, the children were able to escape from the hell that had become their existence and sought help.”
The two individuals are set to appear in court to face their newly indicted charges on January 9.
