Woman Left in Pool of Blood after Backing Into Airplane Propeller at Kansas Airfield; Died at Hospital

A tragic incident occurred at a Kansas airfield, where a woman lost her life after inadvertently backing into an active airplane propeller while capturing photographs.

On Saturday, October 26, shortly before 3 p.m., dispatch in Sedgwick County was alerted to an incident occurring at Cook Airfield in Derby, Kansas, as initially reported by KAKE News.

Derby, located in Sedgwick County, stands out as the most prominent suburb of Wichita.

Upon arrival, deputies found a woman in her 30s who had sustained critical injuries after inadvertently backing into an active airplane propeller while attempting to photograph passengers boarding and disembarking from planes, according to KAKE.

A woman was taken to a nearby hospital in very serious condition, according to reports, where she ultimately passed away from her injuries.

Officials are actively looking into the situation.

“On October 26th, Amanda passed away in a very sad accident, doing what she loved, skydiving and taking pictures!,” the statement continued. “As her family processes through this tragic accident, they could use your help covering the funeral expenses. Please consider helping them out and also keeping them all in your prayers.”

Cook Airfield shared a heartfelt message on Facebook, offering their sympathies to the loved ones of the victim.
