Father-Son Duo Arrested on Several Child Abuse Charges; Police Recovered Hidden Cameras from Residence

A father and son hailing from Winchester, Massachusetts, are confronting grave allegations concerning child abuse and endangerment.

A 33-year-old man, Dr. Bradford Ferrick, faced federal charges and was arrested in March 2023. Authorities revealed that he possessed thousands of images depicting child sexual abuse and utilized concealed cameras, one of which was cleverly disguised as a bracelet.

On Friday, Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell announced that Ferrick and his father, 67-year-old David Ferrick, faced state charges following their indictment.

David Ferrick faces serious allegations, including multiple counts related to child pornography possession, reckless endangerment of a child, and posing a child inappropriately. Additional charges include conspiracy, incest, indecent assault and battery on a minor, trafficking for sexual servitude, and photographing someone without their knowledge in a compromising situation, according to Campbell’s office. He faced charges on September 30.

On October 17, Bradford Ferrick faced arraignment on multiple serious charges, including two counts of reckless child endangerment, two counts of posing a child in the nude, two counts of conspiracy, and individual counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, trafficking a person for sexual servitude, photographing an unsuspecting person in the nude, and tampering with a record, document, or other object intended for use in an official proceeding. Campbell states that he is scheduled to be arraigned in Franklin County on further allegations of capturing images of an unaware individual in the nude.

Bradford Ferrick has been charged with multiple counts related to the possession of illicit material involving minors by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Massachusetts.

“It’s really the silence on this issue that gives them more courage to think that they’re going to get away with it,” said child sex abuse advocate Adrianne Simeone.

Simeone, the executive director of the Mama Bear Effect, diligently monitors these cases to guarantee that victims receive protection and are encouraged to voice their experiences.

During his arrest in 2023, Bradford Ferrick was serving as a medical resident at Baystate Franklin Family Medicine located in western Massachusetts. Authorities conducted raids on his family residence in Winchester and a rental property in Amherst following tips from a national clearinghouse focused on child sexual exploitation. Officials discovered 80 items linked to the exploitation of minors.

“That just goes to show he’s on a whole other level of depravity, that he would feel that comfortable and confident to exploit his position as a doctor,” Simeone said.

She expressed that she is not shocked by the fact that his father has also faced charges.

“Families being open about pornography and things like that, it does go from generation to generation,” she said.

Legal filings reveal that Bradford Ferrick entered into a pact earlier this year prohibiting him from practicing medicine in Massachusetts or any other state.

Simeone highlights that this narrative serves as a reminder of the numerous children who might be suffering in silence. She urges every parent to engage in these crucial discussions with their kids.
