Authorities reported that a woman in South Carolina suffered burns on her stomach and legs after being attacked during a kidnapping incident.
According to Master Deputy Jimmy Watt from the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, Kerry Orlando Hollins, 38, of Seneca, was apprehended on Thursday.
According to reports, officers responded to a call at Oconee Memorial Hospital on Monday morning regarding a victim of domestic assault.
Hollins transported the woman to the hospital for medical attention, but departed upon the arrival of hospital security and the sheriff’s office, according to Watt.
According to reports, it was found that the woman had visited Hollins’ apartment over the weekend and unfortunately became a victim of assault.
According to Watt, the woman was subjected to physical violence, including being punched in the mouth and burned with a clothes iron on various parts of her body.
According to warrants, Hollins allegedly made threats towards the woman and prevented her from leaving the apartment. According to Watt, he also took possession of the woman’s phone to prevent her from seeking assistance.
Hollins faces charges of kidnapping and first-degree domestic violence.
The individual is currently incarcerated with a total bond amount of $150,000.
