Milwaukee, WI- A convicted sex offender has been charged with sexually assaulting two women on Milwaukee’s Upper East Side, with the incidents occurring almost a year apart.
Scott Dykas, aged 54, has been charged by prosecutors in the case. According to court records, he is currently in custody with a cash bond of $100,000.
Police were initially summoned to Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital in response to a stabbing incident.
Based on a criminal complaint, a 20-year-old victim reported being followed by a man while walking home from work in the vicinity of Maryland and Park.
The victim reported that the man approached her, forcefully grabbed her, and instructed her to “face the other way.” According to the complaint, he had a pocketknife and the victim became fearful as he persistently grabbed her without taking anything, leading her to believe he intended to harm her.
According to the complaint, the victim was unfortunately stabbed under her breast and lost her belongings after a difficult incident. A man quickly departed. The victim sustained a significant injury that caused a puncture and collapse of her lung.
According to the complaint, the victim gave a physical description of the attacker, who had a mask covering the lower part of his face. Security footage captured the victim walking when another individual began to closely trail her, leading to a physical altercation. Investigators also observed a black Ford SUV captured on surveillance footage passing by the victim that evening.

Authorities responded to a reported incident of sexual assault that occurred at approximately 10 p.m. As per the complaint, the victim, aged 28, reported that while walking, which is part of her nightly routine, she experienced a sensation on her right hand. Glancing behind her, she noticed a figure wearing a hood.
According to the complaint, the victim reported that the man restrained her with a “loose chokehold” and instructed her to “calm down, be quiet” before committing a sexual assault. The victim proceeded to retrieve a knife from her bag and used it to defend herself, causing the two individuals to separate.
According to the complaint, the assailant allegedly made a threatening statement and proceeded to reach into his sweatshirt before approaching the victim once more. The victim quickly defended herself by using pepper spray on the man, then promptly returned to her residence and contacted the authorities.
According to the complaint, Dykas sought medical attention at a hospital shortly after midnight on July 26, which was less than two hours after the reported sexual assault. During his visit, he was asked about the circumstances surrounding his stabbing.
The complaint states that Dykas frequently altered his location, initially stating he was on Bradford Avenue where the sexual assault occurred, then mentioning Brady Street, and finally alleging that he was stabbed by “two Hispanic males” on the south side of the city.
Authorities conducted a search of Dykas’ vehicle, a black Ford SUV, and discovered a black hooded sweatshirt with an incision and blood. This aligns with the victim’s account of stabbing her assailant during the Oakland and Bradford assault.
According to the complaint, the victim of the 2023 assault was only able to identify Dykas from a line-up once he was already in custody for the 2024 case.
Dykas is facing serious charges including first-degree sexual assault, first-degree reckless injury, and second-degree sexual assault, according to court records.
