A 23-year-old man from Wisconsin has been taken into custody for reportedly having sexual relations with a 13-year-old girl.
On Saturday, Nov. 9, just before 12:15 a.m., the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office was alerted about a 13-year-old girl who had gone missing from the village of Pardeeville.
Authorities arrived on the scene and initiated an investigation while working to find the young individual. Approximately 90 minutes following the first call, a deputy found a vehicle parked close to the home of the missing girl while searching the area.
The deputy found the girl along with 23-year-old Zyon Roberts from Pardeeville in the vehicle. As the detective and deputies conducted their investigation, it came to light that Roberts and the girl were reportedly involved in sexual activity.
Consequently, Roberts found himself in custody and was transported to the Columbia County Jail. On Tuesday, he made an appearance in court, where a cash bond of $10,000 was established. If he posts bond, he will be required to maintain no contact with the girl and will also be prohibited from having unsupervised interactions with minors.
Roberts is set to appear in court for his preliminary hearing on November 20, 2024.
