North Carolina Teacher Molested High-School Student; Accepts Plea Deal after Inappropriate Relation was Busted by Authorities

A former educator from South Mecklenburg High School has admitted guilt to one of the charges related to inappropriate conduct with a student, as stated in court documents.

Gabriela Neufeld, 27, faces allegations of engaging in a sexual relationship for a minimum of one month with an 18-year-old male student from South Meck. In late November 2023, it was revealed that Neufeld had been taken into custody by the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police.

On November 14, 2024, Neufeld admitted guilt to a crime against nature, according to court documents. In a plea deal, five charges of sexual activity with a student have been dropped and will not be revisited.

She received a prison sentence ranging from 6 months to 1 year and 5 months. After serving her time, she will enter a 3-year probation period, lose her teaching license, and be prohibited from working with minors. Additionally, she must comply with any evaluations, counseling, treatment, or educational programs mandated by her probation officer.
