When Does ‘Cable Girls’ Season 5 Part 2 Premiere?

Valentine’s Day marks the return of Netflix’s Spanish stage play Cable Girls (Las Chicas del Cable), and it’s guaranteed to be a bittersweet premiere. Although the show built up a dedicated fanbase for five seasons — an impressive run contemplating how frequently women-centric reveals on Netflix are cancelled all too soon — Cable Girls will not go back for Season 6. Rather, Season 5 will be divided in to two parts, with Part 1 debuting on Feb. 14 and Part 2 later in the year.

When we continue with Cable Girls, Lidia and her friends banded together to break Oscar out of jail after he took the fall for the murder of Carlota’s political competition, Gregorio Diaz. Their jailbreak had a consequence, Even though they succeeded in rescuing Oscar: Ángeles killed and was shot while escaping.

This tragic departure undeniably fractures the bunch. In the final episode of Season 4, Lidia leaves Carlos and lays out for America with Francisco along with Eva. According to the trailer, Season 5 picks up seven years occurring between 1936 and 1939. Francisco and lidia return to Spain in search of Sofia, Ángeles’ daughter, who joined the army to fight in the war. “I came to take her back,” Lidia informs Marga. “Sofia dropped her loved ones too shortly, but she wasn’t alone. She had us.”

A civil war raging adds an extra layer of complication that Cable Girls hasn’t dealt with before. It feels just like none of the characters are safe. Really anything could happen in the last season, and some fans took to Reddit to express their hopes and concerns for Season 5.

Who would Lidia end up with?

The love triangle between Carlos, Lidia, and Francisco is one of the major draws of the series, and the Season 5 trailer teases more play between the three. Though Francisco is released in the pilot episode as Lidia love, she always falls back into Carlos’ arms, with the two even raising a daughter together. Will Lidia pick the man she wants to be with in Season 5?

Will Miguel return?

Miguel Pascual won fans over as the boyfriend who was prepared to research with her when he discovered she was attracted to Oscar of Carlota. Miguel starts to feel left out once he sees Carlota and Oscar love spending more time together though, and after a depressing turn to drug usage, Cable Girls simply spans Miguel out. Lovers still need to learn what Miguel is around in Season 5, no matter though the Oscar and Carlota connection, as well as Oscar’s journey as a trans man, are equally engaging and important plot lines.

What happened to the scenes?

Cable Girls is really a soap opera, but final season toned down to the more risqué characteristics of the show. Will this season bring back a few of their sex and love that fans felt last year lacked?

Worth considering when there’s a war going on, and the trailer shows scenes of destroyed and ruined buildings, although it’s a tough question to ask. Fans will have to cross their fingers that the protagonists eventually get their endings.
