An investigation has been initiated by authorities in Washington State following the grim discovery of multiple bodies, including those of children, found inside a residence early on the morning of Monday, Oct. 21.
Authorities from the King County Sheriff’s Office arrived at a residence in Fall City, Wash., early this morning following reports of a potential suicide, as confirmed by the Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities reported that upon arrival, law enforcement quickly identified the situation as a “homicide investigation involving several fatalities.”
“It is looking like a possible domestic violence situation with no danger to the public,” the sheriff’s office says.
The office has verified that the victims consist of both young individuals and adults, yet they are withholding details regarding the total number of victims and their ages. According to police, the individuals involved are believed to be related by family.
Authorities have yet to provide any insights regarding the reasons for the homicides or the circumstances surrounding the victims’ deaths.
A resident is cooperating with investigators, and at least one individual has been transported to the hospital, according to police reports. The identity of the suspect among those individuals remains uncertain.
Multiple paramedics and first responders reportedly told KIRO 7 that the individual believed to be the shooter was a relative who tried to end his own life. The sheriff’s department chose not to provide any comments regarding this allegation when reached out to by PEOPLE.
Authorities are currently looking into the matter.
