Volley Ball Coach Preyed on Teen Girls in School; Arrested and Charged for Molestation going on for a Decade: Police

A volleyball coach from the Twin Cities faces allegations of child sexual abuse spanning over a decade.

A man named Dorian Christopher Barrs, aged 32, is accused of using various social media platforms, including Snapchat and text messaging, to target young girls.

A volleyball coach from the Twin Cities has been indicted by a U.S. Grand Jury on federal charges. The coach is accused of sexually assaulting multiple children over 10 years.

A man named Dorian Christopher Barrs, aged 32, from Minnetonka, has been accused of serious crimes involving child pornography and coercing minors into engaging in sexual activities. The alleged incidents occurred over a period of time spanning from October 2014 to March 2024.

Based on court documents, Barrs utilized various social media platforms, including Snapchat and text messaging, to target five adolescent girls ranging from 15 to 17 years old.

As a volleyball coach, Barr abused his authority by exploiting these girls and manipulating them into sending him inappropriate content.

In addition, Barrs has created explicit material involving minors, engaging in sexual acts. This behavior was first observed in January 2021.

The victims were all recruited by Barrs during his tenure as a coach at Maple Grove High School, as well as the Minnesota Select and Minnesota Crossfire club teams. According to a source from Minnesota Select, Barrs was promptly suspended once the allegations came to light, as reported by the Star Tribune.

Continued efforts are being made to identify additional victims, with some individuals bravely stepping forward to share their experiences of being contacted by Barrs. Shockingly, one victim was only 13 years old when she allegedly received messages from him.

Barrs has been indicted on multiple charges, including the production and receipt of child pornography, as well as coercion and enticement of a minor.

Yesterday, Barrs appeared in the U.S. District Court before Magistrate Judge John F. Docherty for his initial appearance.
