Tragic incident as Woman Passed Away during Flight to Charlotte due to sudden Illness, according to Authorities

A woman passenger passed away after becoming unwell on an American Airlines aircraft from the Dominican Republic to Charlotte, United States.

The 41-year-old woman fell ill on Flight 2790 and the plane had to be redirected to Providenciales International Airport in the Turks and Caicos due to her medical emergency, as confirmed by an airline representative.

The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force got a contact from the Air Traffic Control Tower at 6:12 pm asking medical help for a 41-year-old individual who was undergoing CPR at that time.

The patient was sent to Cheshire Hall Medical Centre, where she passed away. A post-mortem will be undertaken by the police to determine the cause of death of the passenger.

First responders encountered the aircraft, and one passenger was transported to the nearby hospital. American Airlines stated that the flight proceeded to Charlotte the next day.

Flight Aware, an internet-based flight monitoring service, indicates that the flight was redirected to Providenciales International Airport and landed at approximately 6:18 pm on Wednesday.

The woman’s identity remains undisclosed, but she hailed from Indiana. The event occurred shortly after a British tourist passed away on aboard a LATAM flight to Chile last Saturday.

During his journey from the Falkland Islands to Punta Arenas, a city in southern Chile, a 59-year-old man experienced the occurrence.

The individual died before the aircraft arrived. Officials stated that there is no evidence indicating that his death was due to a criminal act, since his wife informed them that he had multiple preexisting health conditions. An autopsy was scheduled for this week and was anticipated to verify that he passed away from natural causes.
