The authorities in the Florida Keys have reported that a man and a nine-year-old kid, passed away as a result of their injuries sustained after the personal watercraft they were riding collided with a seawall.
According to the statistics provided by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), the collision took place on Tuesday evening just before 7 o’clock.
The official statement stated that the youngster and a man who was 47 years old and from Miami were both on board a personal watercraft manufactured by Yamaha in 2018 when they collided with the seawall in Marathon. Both of them succumbed to their wounds and perished.
It was not entirely clear how the two were connected to one another.
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victims during this difficult time,” FWC said in a statement.
The collision is still being investigated by authorities as reported by a local news outlet.
