A former teacher from Toombs County was taken to jail on Saturday following an inquiry by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).
As per the GBI, Uvalda resident Chasity Cheyenne Knight, 25, was apprehended and charged with one crime of Improper Sexual Contact by an Employee, Agent, or Foster Parent; Consent Not a Defense on Tuesday.
According to a press release from GBI, the investigation has shown that in January, while working as a teacher, Knight had an intimate relationship with one of his students.
An investigation into allegations of probable sexual assault by a teacher against minors in the Toombs County School District was requested by the Toombs County Sheriff’s Office on Monday, August 19, to the GBI.
At the Toombs County Detention Center, Knight was booked by the police.
