Authorities reported that a woman sustained a gunshot wound to the face amid an attempted robbery in Southeast Houston.
Authorities reported that the woman arrived back at her apartment complex on the Gulf Freeway close to Maxwell Lane around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday.
A man reportedly trailed her into the parking lot.
“The individual insisted on receiving cash from her.” In the course of that confrontation, the individual discharged a weapon, hitting her in the face,” stated HPD Lt. Riley.
The victim fled to her apartment and dialed 911, according to police reports.
She was quickly transported to the hospital and is currently in stable condition. The assailant escaped the area, and no details have been provided about their appearance.
The situation regarding whether he seized any money or possessions from the victim remains uncertain.
