Tennessee Man Posed as Minor on Social Media and Solicited Inappropriate Images and Recordings from Minors as Young as 10-year-old: Police

A 32-year-old man from Chattanooga pretended to be a young boy and a young girl to persuade children to send him explicit videos, as stated in a police affidavit.

Michael Ray Buckley was taken into custody by officers on Wednesday. According to a police affidavit we received, officers were informed by the FBI regarding Buckley.

Investigators in Chattanooga provided details regarding Buckley’s Instagram account to Meta.

The document indicates that the records showed “numerous images and videos of CSAM (child sexual abuse material).” It goes on.

The report indicates that a young Buckley primarily conversed with someone who was only 10 years old.

It also states that Buckley shared an image of a minor he acquired CSAM from while posing as himself.

According to the report, Buckley set up 10 social media accounts.

Following his arrest and the reading of his Miranda rights, the affidavit indicates that Buckley acknowledged ownership of the redacted Instagram account, Cash App account, PayPal account, and Telegram accounts. He acknowledged receiving videos from the 10-year-old girl and mentioned obtaining similar videos from a few other girls of comparable age.

Buckley faces 12 charges related to soliciting sexual exploitation of a minor through electronic means, 11 charges of especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, and one charge of aggravated sexual exploitation for images transmitted via Telegram.
