A female member of the Tren de Aragua gang, known for her extensive tattoos, is alleged to have orchestrated a sex-trafficking ring from a hotel in a border town that the gang has seized control of, as revealed in a leaked memo from Border Patrol.
One victim has claimed that Estefania Primera, a Venezuelan undocumented immigrant known as “La Barbie,” drugged her and facilitated a group of men to assault her while she was incapacitated, according to court documents.
On September 27, authorities took Primera into custody in El Paso, Texas, after she was seen with her five young children, according to the memo.
Officials report that she allegedly employs her children as couriers to transport and distribute her illegal substances, according to the document.
Reports suggest that “The Barbie” was based at the Gateway Hotel, which has recently been closed by authorities in El Paso due to numerous complaints regarding disorderly conduct.
A victim of sex trafficking reportedly identified Primera as the individual leading the operation involving prostitutes trafficked into the United States, according to the memo.
A victim reported to authorities that Primera had drugged her on several occasions using a pill laced with fentanyl. The medication led to her losing consciousness. Upon regaining consciousness, she discovered that several men were engaging in sexual acts with her, as stated in court documents.
The woman reported experiencing severe injuries as a result of the brutal assault.
As she attempted to escape, “The Barbie” compelled her to return to the hotel. The documents claimed that she also struck the woman multiple times with punches and kicks.
In August 2023, Primera and family members entered the US unlawfully near El Paso and were promptly released, according to sources from Homeland Security, as reported by The Post.
According to sources, she informed Border Patrol agents of her destination to Illinois and was subsequently placed under the oversight of Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s electronic monitoring system.
Just weeks after being set free, she removed the ankle monitor.
She remains in custody at a jail in El Paso, with a bond set at $200,000.
