Teen Hospitalized After Violent Altercation at Virginia High School; Was Stabbed by Another Student after Altercation

Henrico County, VA– A Virginia high school student is currently battling for survival following a stabbing incident involving another student.

According to a recent update from Henrico County Police, an incident took place involving two male students at Henrico High School on Wednesday, Dec. 4.

Henrico County Public Schools issued an alert to families and staff and shared on Facebook by school board member Ryan Young. The notification stated that the high school was on lockdown due to a significant incident involving two students and requested that parents refrain from picking up their children until more information is provided.

Authorities in Henrico County reported that following the discovery of two male students by a school resource officer, one of the students was taken to a local hospital due to serious injuries. According to sources familiar with the situation. It is reported that he sustained a stab wound to the neck.

According to police, the other teenager was taken to another hospital for treatment of injuries that are not life-threatening.

The law enforcement agency stated: “This is a singular occurrence, and there is no ongoing danger to the public.”

Henrico Schools Superintendent Amy Cashwell and Henrico County Police Chief Eric D. English issued a collaborative statement acknowledging that “leaders have taken many steps to address matters of school security and community safety, yet today is a sad reminder that there is always work to be done.”
